We are collectively facing a devastating present and harrowing future.
It’s heartrending.
It occurs to me to share an opportunity for a turning toward the past—perhaps there is some medicine to be mined in memories.
I offer this Poetry Prompt Journey, and the accompanying readings, in the spirit of authenticity, of humanity, of hope.
I hope that you find goodness in what comes through for you.
These poems were written by:
Yona Wallach
Mahmoud Darwish
Nikki Wallschlaeger
Brigit Pegeen Kelly
The music holding space for you comes from:
Kitka Women’s Vocal Ensemble
I hope you love them as much as I do.
As always, if you receive something from these works of art, I encourage you to consider supporting these creators in the ways that you are able. Poetry collections and music albums make wonderful gifts, for example.
One last thing before you embark:
Take care of yourself as you navigate the terrain of remembering.
Where you go is up to you.
You may choose to take yourself into a joyous and tender memory, or you may choose to venture into a more challenging and painful one.
Please only go where you feel internally resourced to go. Please do not dysregulate yourself.
Your time is precious, do not spend it injuriously.
Please be loving to yourself.
