Hello Everyone,
Most, not all, but most of you are in the U.S.
Are you ok?
Wherever you are on the planet, are you ok?
I mean, how could you be?
There is a lot of turbulence right now, turbulence and abject horror.
Are you grasping the gravity of the situation or is it too much?
It is hard to get a read on what people are processing from afar.
Please take good care and take care of one another and please stay safe and please provide safety to one another.
Would it be supportive to gather for a live Prompt Journey for paid subscribers via Zoom?
I am thinking it might be really nice. Good for the nervous system?
Like 11 am PT / 2 pm ET? On a Sunday? A weekday?
Comments on this post are open to all, so please feel free to let me know what works, and I will do my best to accommodate.
Let’s discuss!
I’ve also been thinking of doing some synchronous work hours, we could join on Zoom and each separately work on whatever it is that we are working on…so this would not be a space for convo, feedback or processing, rather, it would operate as a set time to meet in that space and do what you need to do…from editing a poem you may have began crafting in a Prompt Journey, to painting a seascape, to writing letters to your elected officials, to folding laundry. You might know this process as “body doubling.” It can be very helpful in dealing with entropy, isolation and dissociation, and nobody could blame anyone at this point for falling prey to that!
Please also let me know if this is something you would be interested in.
I am hoping to get more active here.
I have a lot to say.
I am curious about feedback on that topic too, if you want to chime in…I am trying to figure out format(s)…would you be interested in a podcast format? Written posts? Videos?
Are there particular topics that you want to hear from me on?
Please stay safe.
Please take care of each other.
Looking forward to hopefully seeing you soon,
Rachel
Yes, please, to synchronous work hours! Weekdays (9:30am—2:30pm), Tuesday through Friday, work best for me. I'm on the East Coast, Washington, D.C., to be exact—one single mile from the White House. I have been fighting off cynicism; it’s hard. The city feels very angry. So it would be great to connect with others in a peaceful shared space.
I am on the West Coast look forward to when I can join. My next two Sundays are slammed.
These times are so unpredictable, feel like I am watching a bad movie.
Really wonderful to see here again!
I remember to calm myself by how you started out Makers Mondays 🤗 greatly needed these days 😑
