Please be careful today.
Please watch this video from @lizoyer .
I believe the way to stop the regime is a total economic shutdown.
I know it won’t be easy.
But we can start now, start to figure out how we can best progress in the current and unfolding reality.
How we can take care of each other.
To do this, we need to build in-person community.
Relatedly, I have a feeling some of the platforms we rely on may be unavailable to us in the near future—for a variety of reasons.
But beyond that…we need in-person community for safety, well being, awareness and survival.
We need to keep each other safe. We are fully capable of this.
We need to break our addiction to the illusion of “business as usual”.
The regime needs us to continue grinding the wheels of the economy to continue to hold power.
In this death rattle of late-stage capitalism,
power can only exist with money—
and they’re making so much money—
corporate-owned ICE detention concentration camps
and stealth fighter jets
and weapons and munitions and data and surveillance technology
and and and
and there’s a lot to be concerned about regarding these demonstrations today (again, please go watch this video from @lizoyer ).
They want violence.
Do not give them what they want.
I know that we are very angry.
And we have every right to be. But do not give them what they want.
When violence breaks out,
do not sit on the ground,
as some content creators
are recommending.
That’s a good way to get trampled.
I suggest that you not engage in any way, rather, swiftly clear the area. This will expose the person or persons fomenting violence.
There are persons from multiple cult-like factions, who are driven by hate, openly discussing posing as protestors and creating violence.
Similar to actions they have done in the recent past.
Should you choose to attend an in-person protest and find yourself around violence, let it be exposed and obvious who is doing it.
Do not give them what they want.
So many of us are in so much pain and so much about our lives is not working.
We can’t let it turn us against one another.
Everybody is siloed off in their separate groups right now,
but we need each other.
Listen to me, please.
We need each other.
I don’t mean this as some sort of spiritual bypassing appeal to just
“be nice.”
Legit, it’s go time.
We literally need each other.
The only way
we’re going to get through this
is together.
Please be safe today.
Start building community.
In-person community.
Figure out ways to communicate in case platforms and other modes of communication go down.
Figure out ways to support one another while we opt out of the system.
Figure out ways to protect the most vulnerable in our communities.
Look: forget the purity tests.
This doesn’t mean to put yourself in harm’s way by trusting people you should not trust.
You’re going to have to use discernment.
Somebody not thinking exactly like you do on every topic can no longer be a reason to shut them out.
Understand that we have been siloed by algorithms and mis/disinformation to intentionally divide us.
For many years now.
We need to find each other and build communities.
Human communities.
We’re going to need each other to get through this.
Today and in the coming days.
But make no mistake:
we can do this.
Dear Rachel, thank you for this. I have this question : what does an economic shutdown look like? I ask to know what steps to take or not take. If you have a moment to explain more, I’d appreciate it.
Much love❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for this, we need each other now more than ever 🐝🧷🌻
